Transcend Bitless Bridle.
Soft bridles. Designed for subtle communication.
Think about this soft connection compared to the rein contact using a bitted bridle.
If you pull on a bit it's the horses mouth that gets the pressure. That pressure causes pain and bruising and in the case of rollkurists blood blue tongues and broken nuchal ligaments.
Exert pressure on transcend bridles and the pressure is predominantly taken by the bridle. And the nose. The soft padding and wide noseband mitigates the pressure on the nose somewhat.
Everything is equal and opposite. You pull the horse pulls. It creates bracing throughout your horse (and you) if you are communicating by using pressure on your reins. Leaning back on your reins. Balancing off your reins.
Trying to create a false outline.
If your bridle is damaged through this at least you know that damage wasn't inflicted on your horses mouth.
Cueing is where it's at. No pulling. No tight reins. No trying to hold the horse in a "frame"
The horse will not be balanced if the reins are tight. They can't lean if there is nothing to lean on. Self carriage is exactly what it says. Self.....the horse carries itself. No horse needs to be held up by a human.
With bits you can force "outline" using pain.
With transcend you need to learn the art of communication and the softest touch.
Your bridle will show if you are pulling instead of cueing. But isn't that better than your horse showing the pressure ?
